The McMaster Children and Youth University program accepts volunteers from all Faculties across the University. We also accept staff as well as student volunteers.  Furthermore we also welcome volunteers from the general community. Since our programming covers a broad range of programs, expertise in a specific subject area is not required.  There are three program areas where we accept volunteers.

 

Lecture Host

 

Interact with our families and assist with registration and seating at our monthly lectures. We average more than 300 guests per lecture. Volunteers assist with managing our registration and tracking of our learning passport program. Volunteers are also needed to assist with parking and guiding our guests to the lecture venue. This opportunity requires a maximum of 3 hours per month.

MCYU Promotional Researcher

 

Enhance your communication and marketing skills developing on-line blogs and social media messaging to engage youth and their families. This opportunity involves researching and populating our website and social media messages with interesting facts and links associated with our programming. This position requires individual who are curious, independent workers and innovative thinkers as well as time commitment of 3 hrs per week. You will be required to attend MCYU events and drive the public discussion related to that event. There are a limited number of positions available for this opportunity.
